Galantamine improves the function of nerve cells in the brain. It works by preventing the breakdown of a chemical called acetylcholine (ah see til KO leen). People with dementia usually have lower levels of this chemical, which is important for the processes of memory, thinking, and reasoning. Galantamine is used to treat mild to moderate dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease. Galantamine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Glyxambi contains a combination of empagliflozin and linagliptin. Empagliflozin and linagliptin are oral diabetes medicines that help control blood sugar levels. Empagliflozin works by helping the kidneys get rid of glucose from your bloodstream. Linagliptin works by regulating the levels of insulin your body produces after eating. Glyxambi is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Glyxambi is also used to lower the risk of death from heart attack, stroke, or heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes who also have heart disease.
Midodrine is used to treat low blood pressure (hypotension). It is used in patients who experience dizziness due to low blood pressure while standing up suddenly from sitting or lying position. This medicine causes tightening of blood vessels and results in elevating your blood pressure.
